I just went to the regional fair to see how my artwork placed.

I submitted and


While the barn owl got 1st place, I found out it was because no one else submitted anything into the pastel and chalk category. So I had no competition.

and Simone got 3rd place, wasn't hung on the wall, and was put into a place where no one could see it. I'm not happy about that because I spent way too much time on it.

I did not make Best in Show this year. My work will not be sent to the state fair, either. So that's a little discouraging, but I suppose I could have worked harder for it.

In my opinion, the work that won Best in Show could have been something else, because it wasn't that impressive.

I mean, I know you can't win everything, but there's not much else in Sanford I can utilize to get exposed, so this was among my only opportunities.

I guess it's back to the drawing board (literally) to figure out what I did wrong so I won't make the same mistakes again for the state fair next month!
